How to Care for Detail Jewelry |
|
|
When you are not wearing your jewelry, keep in tissue paper or a sealed bag to prevent tarnishing. Sterling silver can be worn in water; however may become black and difficult to clean if worn in chlorinated water. Try to remember to remove all jewelry before going to bed, as earrings may be lost or bent while sleeping. Regularly wipe with a soft cloth to remove dust or a specialized silver cleaning cloth to remove any signs of oxidation. If the jewelry is plain silver or contains a non porous gem, occasionally wash it in a small bowl of warm water and mild liquid detergent. Gently brush with a soft toothbrush while it is still immersed. Rinse each piece under warm running water and pat dry with a soft lint-free cloth. Remember, wearing the jewelry during the day is the easiest way to keep it clean and safe!
